Endometriosis
Naturopathic nutrition and lifestyle support for managing endometriosis
Endometriosis is a condition I commonly support in practice, and it can have a significant impact on day-to-day wellbeing. It occurs when tissue similar to the tissue found in the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterine cavity, most often within the pelvis - such as on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, or surrounding structures. In rare cases, the same tissue can be found in more distant parts of the body.
This tissue responds to a woman’s natural hormonal cycle, so each month it thickens, breaks down, and bleeds. However, because it has no way to leave the body, it can lead to ongoing inflammation, pain, and the formation of scar tissue or adhesions that may affect how organs function.
The symptoms I see can vary widely. Many women experience painful periods, heavy bleeding, pain during or after intercourse, and ongoing pelvic or lower back pain. Some also notice digestive or urinary symptoms that follow their cycle, as well as migraines, anxiety, or low mood.
My approach from a naturopathic nutrition and lifestyle perspective is to view endometriosis as a whole-body condition. I focus on reducing inflammation, supporting hormonal balance, and improving gut and immune health. Through personalised nutrition, targeted support, and sustainable lifestyle strategies, I am able to help manage symptoms, improve quality of life, and support your long-term health and wellbeing.
